Save the Date: 5th AEEP Forum at ENLIT Europe 2026

Allgemein

10 November 2026 | Vienna, Austria

The Africa–EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) will convene the 5th AEEP Forum on 10 November 2026 in Vienna, Austria, as an official side event of ENLIT Europe 2026. Under the theme “From Political Commitment to Delivery: Translating Africa–Europe Energy Partnerships into Action,” the Forum will bring together African and European energy stakeholders to explore how political commitments can translate into concrete projects, investment and stronger regional energy cooperation.

Convened by the AEEP with support from the European Union and Germany, the Forum will feature contributions from the African Union Commission (AUC), the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) and the African Energy Commission (AfREC). Participants will include policymakers, energy institutions, regulators, utilities, investors, project developers and technical partners from both continents.

As Africa and Europe work to advance shared energy priorities, the Forum will focus on the practical steps needed to strengthen cooperation and accelerate implementation. Discussions will address priority energy infrastructure, institutional and regulatory readiness, investment mobilisation and the development of bankable project pipelines.

A central focus will be the implementation of key continental initiatives, including the African Single Electricity Market (AfSEM), the Continental Power System Masterplan (CMP) and the African Energy Efficiency Strategy and Action Plan (AfEES). Sessions will explore regulatory harmonisation, regional electricity trade, cross-border infrastructure, energy efficiency investment and opportunities to connect African project developers with European investors and finance providers.

The programme will also include discussions on the African Energy Efficiency Facility and investment opportunities linked to regional energy corridors, alongside presentations of priority projects under the CMP. These exchanges aim to strengthen cooperation between African and European institutions and support the progression of energy projects towards implementation.

Through technical exchanges and direct engagement among public- and private-sector stakeholders, the 5th AEEP Forum will provide a platform to identify shared priorities, explore potential partnerships and strengthen the connections needed to turn political commitments into tangible outcomes for Africa and Europe.
