Event Details

Since 2019, the AUC and IEA has been organising an annual forum of energy ministers from AU and IEA Member countries to discuss critical energy issues affecting the energy sector and exploring ways of accelerating energy access in Africa. This year, AUC partnered with the IEA to produce its seminal Energy Outlook publication with a special focus on Africa and launched in June 2022. The COP27 being hosted in Africa presents a unique opportunity to increase the visibility and impact of the AUC-IEA High-Level Forum and its outcomes. The event is expected to focus on expounding on the Africa Energy Outlook, its implications and opportunities for addressing the continent’s energy needs and closing the policy gaps as well as strengthening the partnership between Africa and IEA Member States.
