What are the Energy Talks?
The AEEP Energy Talks are a series of bimonthly webinars that are hosted by the Africa‑EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) in collaboration with our partners. The talks bring together stakeholders from Africa and Europe to facilitate improved dialogue, cooperation, and coordination on high‑priority energy topics to realise the goal of a just and sustainable energy future for the continent.
What is the topic for the next Energy Talks?
The upcoming Energy Talks are the 21st round of talks hosted by the AEEP Secretariat. Since its launch in November 2020, the webinars have delved into transformative energy topics at the intersection of the two continents, promoting knowledge sharing and idea exchange among experts and participants.
The outcomes of the AEEP Energy Talks contribute to the AEEP’s knowledge products, including Spotlights or policy briefs, which you can find on our website.
What were some of the priority topics in previous Energy Talks?
From clean energy solutions to climate finance, the AEEP Energy Talks provide a platform for dialogue and exchange, enabling stakeholders to discuss key topics and explore innovative strategies that can strengthen energy access, sustainability, and Africa-EU cooperation in achieving SDG7 and decarbonisation goals.
For example, the 19th AEEP Energy Talks, held on 7 May 2025, explored the role of green hydrogen and its derivatives in advancing green industrialisation and enabling the deep decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries. Similarly, the 15th edition of the Talks, on 26 June 2024, underscored the urgent need to scale up clean cooking solutions across Africa, sharing lessons from African & European collaborations and their tangible impacts.
