Dr. Amani Abou-Zeid has been elected for a second term as Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy at the African Union Commission. For the next four years Dr. Abou-Zeid will focus on using the post COVID-19 recovery process to mobilise partners and stakeholders to accelerate the implementation of AU continental and regional initiatives.

The Assembly of the African Union Heads of States and Government adopted the second phase of the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA PAP II) during the AU Assembly’s 34th Ordinary Session on 7 February 2021.
