From the 11th to the 22nd of November, the city of Baku in Azerbaijan will be hosting the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, COP29. This year the conference will serve as a key platform to advance the global energy transition agenda by addressing critical issues such as the expansion of renewable energy, phasing out fossil fuels, energy efficiency improvements, the New Quantified Goals on Climate Finance, sectoral energy transitions targets within the NDCs, and the role of infrastructure and technology to achieve SDG7.
