The 8th Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) Week will take place in Addis, Ababa, Ethiopia on 25-29 November 2024 under the theme “Fostering Resilient and Inclusive Infrastructure for Africa’s Sustainable Growth: Leveraging Transformative Financing and Regional Integration”.
The Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Towela Nyirenda-Jere as the new Head of Secretariat for the partnership, succeeding Mr Johan van den Berg. The official handover took place during the AEEP Steering Group meeting in Addis Ababa on 22 October.

The Africa-EU Green Energy Initiative (AEGEI) is Europe’s contribution to Africa’s transformative effort to reshape the energy landscape of the continent. This initiative aims to enhance electricity production from renewable sources and broaden access to energy across Africa, while promoting energy efficiency and supporting regulatory reforms to create a favourable environment for private investment. By fostering market integration, AEGEI seeks to catalyse sustainable economic growth and improve the quality of life for millions.
The 15th AEEP Energy Talks on 26 June 2024 (11:00-13:00 CET,12:00-14:00 EAT) will dive into "Fueling Partnerships: Investing in Clean Cooking for Health, Equality, and Climate in Africa". The webinar will highlight the urgent need for clean cooking solutions in Africa and share insights from Africa-European collaboration.
