The 8th Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) Week will take place in Addis, Ababa, Ethiopia on 25-29 November 2024 under the theme “Fostering Resilient and Inclusive Infrastructure for Africa’s Sustainable Growth: Leveraging Transformative Financing and Regional Integration”.

The Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Towela Nyirenda-Jere as the new Head of Secretariat for the partnership, succeeding Mr Johan van den Berg. The official handover took place during the AEEP Steering Group meeting in Addis Ababa on 22 October.

The 16th AEEP Energy Talks on 11 September 2024 will focus on "Rolling out Africa's Continental Masterplan at Scale: The Role of Energy Tendering Systems". This webinar will explore how energy tendering systems are pivotal in accelerating renewable energy deployment, fostering competition, and promoting innovation across Africa. Key discussions will include best practices for project selection, attracting private investment, and ensuring transparent, merit-based procurement to enhance the credibility and sustainability of Africa’s energy sector.

The 15th AEEP Energy Talks on 26 June 2024 (11:00-13:00 CET,12:00-14:00 EAT) will dive into "Fueling Partnerships: Investing in Clean Cooking for Health, Equality, and Climate in Africa". The webinar will highlight the urgent need for clean cooking solutions in Africa and share insights from Africa-European collaboration.
