In September 2022, the AEEP supported SACREEE's Renewable Energy Job Creation workshop. Through the completion of this course, the participants were equipped with innovative ways to pitch their businesses, understanding the importance of donors, and analysing data and information for productive use.

In a new paper, research lead, Peter Twesigye from Power Futures Lab at the University of Cape Town, examines the structural, policy, and regulatory incentives required to improve the performance of African utilities. He concludes that countries where reforms are designed in an inclusive way are more successful in adopting them.

The Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance at the University of Cape Town hosted a webinar on ""The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and Opportunities for Renewable Energy and Industrial Transformation – Series 2". AEEP head of Secretariat, Johan van den Berg, hopes that AfCFTA will enable Africa to have full access to energy, industrialisation, free trade, and climate stability.

In May, 2022, small to medium-sized African energy entrepreneurs had the opportunity to gain technical knowledge and skills on planning, design, development, implementation and installation of renewable energy projects while attending the “Renewable Energy Project Design and Development” course hosted by SACREEE.
