On 20 October 2021, the Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) is holding its Forum Aligning Energies for a Green and Prosperous Africa.The half-day event will help to shape the future focus of Africa and Europe’s collaboration on energy and climate.
The 2021 AEEP Report European Financial Flows on SDG7 to Africa shows that, while a lot remains to be done, SDG7 is achievable in Africa. In a guest article on the IISD SDG Knowledge Hub, Fiona D. Wollensack-Boult of the AEEP Secretariat emphasises that achieving SDG7 in Africa is a sound investment.
The sixth AEEP Energy Talks, on 29 September 2021, 14.00 – 16.00 (CEST), will present key findings of the 2021 AEEP Report: European Financial Flows on SDG7 to Africa. The results are discussed with a range of African and European energy experts, and connected to the outcomes of the UN High-level Dialogue on Energy.
The Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) supports Power Futures Lab (PFL), a leading centre of excellence at the University of Cape Town, to deliver a virtual training on energy regulation. Targeting African utility and energy sector professionals, the training will enhance the specialised skills required to design efficient regulatory regimes for modern energy services.
The fifth AEEP Energy Talks on 30 June 2021, 14.00 - 15.45 (CEST) will bring together African and European experts to debate mobilising private investment in renewable energy to advance a sustainable energy transition in Africa.
