The second virtual training on energy regulation provided by Power Futures Lab (PFL) and supported by the Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) will kick off on 22 November. The AEEP is supporting PFL, a leading centre of excellence at the University of Cape Town, to deliver altogether three virtual trainings on energy regulation.

On the 2nd of November 2021 the COP26’s SDG7 pavilion hosted a dialogue on “Target 2030: Reinforcing the Africa-Europe Energy Partnership”. The side event brought together African and European experts to discuss the energy partnership between both continents, and how to best support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
In the third AEEP Energy Champion Conversation we meet Professor Ignacio J. Pérez-Arriaga who tells us about his extensive work for cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions in Europe and Africa. He also reflects on why the challanges of access to energy and a sustainable energy transition require us to think big.
Bonn, Germany – 4 November 2021 - On 20 October 2021, the Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) Forum 2021 “Aligning Energies for a Green and Prosperous Africa” attracted more than 500 stakeholders to reflect on Africa and Europe’s unique partnership on energy. The half-day virtual event allowed participants to analyse how this partnership can be further leveraged to foster both continents’ goals on energy and climate.
The Second African Union – European Union Foreign Affairs Ministerial Meeting in Kigali, Rwanda, on 25-26 October 2021 re-iterated the need for countries to work hard on comprehensive long-term strategies, increased green investments, scaled up climate adaptation measures and decisive actions in all sectors of the economy.
